Make a positive lifestyle change

USE LOW CARBON TRANSPORTATION LIKE BICYCLES OR TRAINS AND BUSES WHEN POSSIBLE.
This helps reduce fossil fuel consumption and gets you, fitter both mentally and physically!
BE OPEN ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH
Opening up about your feeling down will allow you to express how you truly feel and it gives others a chance to help you by guiding you through the difficult times.
MEATLESS MONDAY
Meat requires an enormous amount of resources especially beef. Cows need land to graze which generally results in less wild green space as farms eat into the forests for example.
UNPLUGGED
Two ways to think about this, one save your electricity bill by properly turning devices off standby and off completely at the end of the day. Also for your mental health.
SAVE WATER
Water-saving showerhead, take shorter showers, turn off water faucets tightly. Conserving water means using our water supply wisely and be responsible. As every individual depends on water for livelihood, we must learn how to keep our limited supply of water pure and away from pollution.
PLANT TREES
Trees are the ultimate carbon capture and storage machines Planting trees can increase the carbon sink that absorbs CO2 from the atmosphere through photosynthesis and improves biodiversity as well as reverses deforestation.
REDUCE SINGLE WASTE PLASTIC
Plastic takes a long time to break down. Because they’re light and the wind catches them easily, they can be transported far and wide into wild spaces where they kill other life forms like fish, birds and mammals. Creating single-use plastic items uses up significant resources that are made from non-renewable resources such as crude oil that needs lots of energy to transport the plastic item from its factory to where it’s distributed and then this item is discarded immediately after use. We can all stop feeding the demand, use reusable items or sustainable products where possible i.e. reusable water bottle/coffee mug, reuseable carrying bag, bamboo clothing, bamboo toiletries.
REDUCE FOOD WASTE
Some ideas below. To avoid buying more food than you need, make frequent trips to the supermarket store every few days rather than doing a bulk shopping trip once a week and make a point to finish all the food before another trip to the supermarket. Store food correctly. According to the Natural Resource Defense Council, about two-thirds of household waste in the United Kingdom is due to food spoilage (4). Separating foods that produce more ethylene gas from those that don’t is another great way to reduce food spoilage. Ethylene promotes ripening in foods and could lead to spoilage. Foods that produce ethylene gas while ripening include: bananas, avocados, tomatoes, peaches, pears, green onions. Keep these foods away from ethylene-sensitive produce like potatoes, apples, leafy greens, berries and peppers to avoid premature spoilage. Use a food bank for any waste food Prepare leftover meals. Which also saves time and money!
